Week In Review 7.24.17-7.29.17
Happy Saturday, folk! How was your week? I had a pretty good one. I got all my posts out when I intended (we all know that doesn’t always happen), and I’ve been able to start thinking about next week (again, doesn’t always happen ahead of time). I’ve continued to make progress on A Crack in the Mirror, and had a few epiphanies about the story this week.
This week I’ve been binge listening to the podcast I Should Be Writing by Mur Lafferty. I went back as far as Podbeam would let me, which was about October of 2013, so I just listened through a series of short specials about NaNoWriMo from that year. I really loved that Mur gave some writing prompts designed to help with a work in progress (which I would love more of but these types of prompts are hard to find). But this got my mind cooking and I had a nice session of writing down questions (prompts) that will help me with A Crack in the Mirror and also some future stories.
I realized today I’ve had a writing streak of 12 days! Not that I’ve written a ton on each of these days, but at least half a page and I’m pretty stoked about that. It’s been a while since I’ve had a streak that long. Listening to these writing podcasts has really put me in a writing mood.
Other news of the week, the roommates are moving out this weekend. The boyfriend and I are staying in the apartment and having two other friends move in. The next few weeks will be interesting once the boys move in and we all get used to each other. I’ve also been working through a swamp of paperwork for this new job, and preparing for season auditions at the theatre. Things are quickly getting back to being busy, busy, busy. But for now I’ll keep writing and binge reading so I can keep up with my goal for the year.
How have your creative puursuits faired this week? Any developments you’d like to share?
